History

1950

It was after the II World War that Mr Luigi Bassi started producing the first fittings in Piacenza, Italy, gaining a high experience and creating many important connections in this industrial field.

1962
Mr Luigi Bassi moved the activity from Piacenza to the present location in San Rocco al Porto, Lodi, Italy and founded Bassi Luigi & C. S.p.A.

1971
To increase the forging capacity, a 5,000 tons press machine was acquired: this machine was able to form high wall thickness fittings.

1986
To continue the business development, above all in oil & gas market, the company increased the manufacturing area from 50,000 sq m to 160,000 sq m

1989
Bassi Luigi & C. started producing half-shells welded elbows with diameter up to 84".

1991
The company obtained the relevant certification ISO 9001.

1994
Bassi Luigi & C. acquired B.G.M.B. (Metallurgica Bergamasca), established in 1963 and located in Mapello, Bergamp, Italy, with its know-how and facilities. The new company, named SIMAS S.p.A. added to the range of products with heat exchanger, pressure vessel and induction bends.

1995
Due to the new technological requests for fluid transport with diameter up to 104" a new wide press machine (width of 4,900 mm) was introduced as one of the strategic items of machinery.

2001
Three Bending machines were taken over from two important German competitors together with tools and know-how with some of their employees joining Bassi Luigi & C.

2012
Bassi Luigi & C. celebrated its 50 years. Another goal has been reached with the production of a 120 inches Tee: the first one in the world for its dimension.

2013
Norsok certification was acquired and the company focused on the application of special materials such as titanium, duplex and super duplex. For big dimension prefabrication that exceeds road transport is used a dedicated area at Porto Marghera, Venice, Italy adapted to these constructions.

2014
The company obtained the BP approval as a qualified supplier. New production challenges was faced such as cladded-weld overlay systems thanks to the installation of automatic machineries for cladding of tubes, fittings, induction bends and flanges.

2015
The application of Titanum was developed with success in bulding a new strategic plant. A fully and deep revamping of all manufacturing departments have been performed with great increasing of work capacities: - a new authomatic equipment for plasma cutting fittings. - a retrofitting of boring-mill - sklilled people have been employed in technical and sales offices to improve knowledge and satisfy all markets' demands. New qualified workers have joined our workshop to support our increasing workload.

2018
Bassi Luigi & C. S.p.A. and SIMAS S.p.A. were acquired by Allied International S.r.l. and are therefore part of the Allied International Group.
